Dear Friend,

Carmen is a mother of three children under 12 years old who fled her home where her husband brutalized her both physically and emotionally for many years. Moving into YWCA’s confidential Safe House shelter Carmen received daily support from our advocates. In the weeks that followed, YWCA’s therapists gave Carmen and her children the space to open up and begin to heal from their trauma. Carmen worked tirelessly with our advocates to access resources to increase her safety and independence.

Especially as we prepare to celebrate the mothers in our lives, we recognize Carmen’s courage and strength as she made the critical changes necessary to move forward. Your generous gift of financial support will give local women, like Carmen, the chance to be the best mothers they can be.
