Not just a lunch box

metal lunch box with yellow handle and plaid pattern

Dear Friend,

A lunchbox. It seems like a simple item for a child to have, but for Gabriella*, the lunchbox we gave her (funded by caring supporters such as you!) was the first one she ever had.

Gabriella is a bright third-grader, who lives with her mom and three siblings in our confidential Safe House Shelter. They are survivors of domestic violence.  A lunchbox made this little girl feel like she is like the other kids at school. She is no longer the girl who gets "free lunch" and keeps secrets about her life. Now she can be like her friends at school.

Together we are ending domestic violence in our community and providing lunchboxes. Particularly now, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, I sincerely thank you for your continued generosity and support.

Happy Mother’s Day from our families to yours.

Warmest regards,

Madeleine Keegan O’Connell
Chief Executive Officer

P.S. – Please continue to be part of our work.  Gabriella thanks you for your generosity!*not her real name
