A Message from CEO Madeleine Keegan O’Connell
Deeply rooted in our programming centered on domestic violence services, YWCA Sonoma County continues to expand and innovate to better serve the needs of our community.
The three pillars of our programming begin with our 24/7 DV crisis hotline (707) 546-1234, where we answer the call from local families who experience violence in the place we should all feel most safe: inside our own homes. Our confidential Safe House shelter is a 32 bed Victorian with two kitchens, four full bathrooms, and relaxing areas for children and adults and serves a refuge for all who come.
YWCA operates childcare services for infant/toddler and preschool-aged children in Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. The Santa Rosa location of A Special Place Therapeutic Preschool is the only one of its kind in Sonoma County, offering children who have experienced trauma onsite counseling as well as social-emotional learning groups.
Recognizing that healing begins with a conversation, YWCA’s Counseling Support Services is the glue that binds all of our programming together. We offer DV Support Groups in two languages, child, youth and adult individual counseling all in a safe and confidential environment.
The video below illustrates the journey women who have found refuge and healing with YWCA for themselves and their children as well as features a man who attended our therapeutic preschool as a boy. YWCA is immensely grateful for their participation in sharing their stories so that you can learn more about YWCA’s unmatched service to families in need. Please watch the video below.
We’ve been serving our community since 1976 and we will continue to be here for Sonoma County families in need as long as they need us to be.
Warmly,
Madeleine Keegan O’Connell
