A Message from CEO Madeleine Keegan O’Connell

At the heart of the YWCA’s programs are our domestic violence services. We provide a wide range of services to those who have been impacted by domestic violence so they can heal, become self-sufficient, and return productively to our community. A Special Place Therapeutic Preschool offers children living with violence or neglect a safe setting five days a week.

Committed to serving men, women and children in our community who struggle with the devastating effects of domestic violence, YWCA staff work tirelessly with clients and their families to establish lives free from violence.

“Wendy’s Story” tells the real life story of a mother who found shelter in our Safe House, a learning environment for her little ones at our preschool and counseling services which continue to support her in making better decisions for herself and her family. Watch the video below.

YWCA is Sonoma County’s answer to the call from local families experiencing violence in the place they should feel most safe; inside their own homes. We’ve been serving our community since 1975 and we will continue to be here for families in need as long as they need us to be.

Please contact me if you’d like to learn more about our efforts to spread our message of hope and build awareness of our mission in Sonoma County

Warmly,

Madeleine Keegan O’Connell
